Peter Heather

Peter is our Practice Principal and owner. He was born and raised on a farm in New Zealand and graduated from Massey University Veterinary School in 1991. He worked for a few years in mixed practice in NZ before travelling to the UK to work. Since 1996, Peter has been based in Fareham and has owned the practice since 2001. He has an interest in all aspects of small animal practice; medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. Peter is the current President of the British Veterinary LGBT+ society and is proud for the next year to represent the wonderful LGBTQ+ people working in the profession. He plays golf, does some beekeeping and has two whippets and a chihuahua.
Becky Gustar
BVM&S MRCVS
Becky graduated from the Royal Dick Vet School in Edinburgh and joined the practice not long after as a MRCVS. She has worked here as a vet for nearly 20 years now! Becky has a keen interest in all aspects of veterinary practice but particularly enjoys getting to know our clients and their pets over the many years in which she often cares for them, especially our geriatric patients with their more complex needs. She has a mad lurcher and a rather stinky tortoise whom she loves very much.
Ned Sweeney
MVB MRCVS
Ned graduated from University College Dublin and has made the move here from the North West of Ireland. He has a keen interest in all aspects of veterinary care with a special interest in Radiology and Surgery. Outside of the clinic, Ned enjoys jogging along the Creek or going for a dip in the Sea. He misses his Jack Russell Jessie, who is home in Ireland but he’s looking forward to making friends with all your pets in the near future.
Emma Bishop
RVN
Emma has been with us since 2014, first doing her nurse training here whilst completing her degree and qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2017. She then went on to complete an Honours degree in Applied Animal Behaviour in 2019. She enjoys running the various nurse clinics at the practice, assisting with elderly and frail animals, and has a special interest in feline behaviour.
Ben Nash
RVN
Ben joined us in 2018 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in June 2023. Ben enjoys assisting with surgical procedures and is particularly interested in orthopaedic procedures, but also likes to get involved with radiography. He has an 8 year old rescue dog who requires a lot of TLC as he is a very nervous boy.
Faith Williams
RVN
Faith is our newest addition to the nursing team, having started with us in late 2022 as an Animal Nursing Assistant. She has since undertaken her nurse training which she completed and became a fully fledged Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in December 2025. Faith has a love for all animals but is particularly fond of cats and enjoys providing our inpatients with the important care needed during their stay, as well as lots of love and attention!
Barry Hobbs
Animal Nursing Assistant
Barry has been working at the practice since 2018, mainly as an Animal Nursing Assistant working alongside our nursing team, but he also has multiple other roles including gardening and maintenance. He enjoys getting to know the inpatients during their stay with us and particularly likes exercising the dogs and giving TLC when needed. Barry has a hectic life with three young children so currently has a fish tank with numerous tropical fish for relaxation and respite!
Lynne Peters
Veterinary Receptionist
Lynne has been with us since 2019 as one of our reception team, she has many years experience in both customer service and HR roles. Lynne loves working on reception, meeting and greeting all our clients and their pets which come into the surgery, and gives much support to owners during those more difficult moments. She lives locally with her two very pampered rescue cats she recently adopted who like nothing better than getting into mischief!
Hollie Blackmore
Veterinary Receptionist
Hollie started with us back in 2019, initially as maternity cover for one of our receptionists before taking on a permanent role in the team. She enjoys being part of the reception team and getting to know both our clients and their pets, often having a good chinwag on their visits. She also helps out in various other roles, during busy periods when staff are off, which we are most grateful for. She has a menagerie of exotic pets at home including rabbits, chickens and a budgie, and will often bring in local sick/injured wildlife she has found. Outside of work, when not tending to the herd, she enjoys seeing her friends and going to the gym.
Esther Kent
Veterinary Receptionist
Esther has worked at Fareham Creek as a Receptionist for many years, more than we can mention without giving her age away! She enjoys her role very much, especially as no two days are the same and the fact each day brings with it some new challenges. Esther owns a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Papillon who go on many adventures together, but their favourite thing is bodyboarding in Cornwall which they love as much as their owner!
Sue Smith
Veterinary Receptionist
Sue works for us part-time as a receptionist and has been at the Creek since 2000. She enjoys all reception duties, chatting to our clients and can often be found by following her infectious laugh! She owns both a miniature dachshund and a long-haired cat who came into the practice as a stray kitten over 17 years ago. They are both frequent visitors to the practice as they often require grooming due to their long coats and feisty personalities!
Carla Grant
Veterinary Receptionist
Carla joined the practice in 2013 initially as a veterinary nurse, qualifying in 2016, then went on to join the reception team and has been a receptionist for the last six years. Whilst she enjoyed her new role being front of house and building a rapport with our clients, she was missing some of her nursing duties. Upon returning to us part-time recently from maternity leave, she has now decided to split her role between both reception and nursing, and is currently undergoing a period of supervised practice to get her back up to speed and on the register. She is a very welcome addition back to the nursing team!
Lisa Osborne
Veterinary Receptionist
Lisa joined us here in January 2022 as a receptionist having left her role in the dental industry after many years. She lives locally with her little Yorkshire Terrier, who often comes to visit and keeps her company sitting nicely behind the reception desk! Lisa is very creative and enjoys partaking in various arts and crafts in her spare time.
Ellen Dimmock
Veterinary Receptionist
Ellen joined us in early 2024 bringing previous experience in Animal Care Assistance and on reception. Over many years in the veterinary industry Ellen has also rehabilitated many Hedgehogs which she has found very rewarding. She started us with only one dog but has since adopted another, together with her young son they keep Ellen and her family busy. They enjoy long walks exploring the countryside.
